Overview

WoodSpring Suites is a United States–based extended-stay hotel brand owned by Choice Hotels International. The brand was founded in 2003 (originally as Value Place) and later rebranded as WoodSpring Suites.

Boycott

WoodSpring Suites is listed for boycott due to documented use of at least one WoodSpring Suites property in lodging arrangements tied to a large ICE contract executed through the nonprofit Endeavors.

In March 2021, ICE signed an $86.9 million contract with Endeavors to provide “temporary shelter and processing services” for families placed into immigration proceedings, using hotel sites as part of the program.

In April 2021, Axios reported that a WoodSpring Suites was among the hotels slated to house migrant families under the Endeavors contract (and that some hotels later backed out under political pressure). Business Insider’s write-up of the Axios reporting likewise identified “a Woodspring Suites” among the hotels tied to the Endeavors/ICE hotel housing plan.

Public radio reporting later described the Endeavors contract as involving multiple hotels across Arizona and Texas, with ICE ending use of most of the hotel sites by the end of 2021.

ICE List documents and, where applicable, boycotts companies whose services materially support immigration enforcement custody, processing, detention, or related operations.
