Privacy Policy

ICE List Wiki is an independently maintained, volunteer-driven documentation project. We are committed to minimizing data collection, protecting contributors, and being transparent about what information is stored and why.

This page explains what data we collect, how it is used, and what control users have over their information.

User accounts

ICE List Wiki does not allow public account creation.

All user accounts:

  • Are manually created or approved by site administrators
  • Are granted only to verified volunteers or trusted contributors
  • Exist solely for the purpose of contributing to the project

There is no open registration, automated sign-up, or public user onboarding.

What information we collect

Account information

For approved users, the following information is stored:

  • Username
  • Encrypted password
  • User permissions and roles
  • Edit history associated with the account

Contributions and edit history

All edits made to the wiki are logged and publicly visible, including:

  • Username
  • Timestamp of the edit
  • Edit summary
  • Content added or removed

This is standard MediaWiki behavior and is essential for transparency, verification, and accountability.

IP addresses

  • IP addresses are logged for logged-out edits
  • For logged-in users, IP addresses are visible only to site administrators

IP data is used strictly for abuse prevention, spam mitigation, and site security. It is not sold, shared, or used for tracking.

Automatically collected technical data

Contributors should assume that:

  • All contributions are public
  • Edit histories are permanent
  • Content may be mirrored or archived by third parties beyond our control
